The RM Arena will be inaugurated this Tuesday, 7th, with a tournament in the BT 10 category, with points in the International Tennis Federation’s world rankings. The new sports arena in BH is located at Espaço 356, in the Belo Horizonte neighborhood of Olhos D’Água.
The games start at 10am at the newest beach tennis complex in the capital of Minas Gerais, which will give opportunities to young talents and will be a warm-up for the big World Tour BT100 Alto Giro event, which will be played between the 9th and 12th.
Owner of the house, the He-Man of football, Rafael Moura, will play with Daniel dos Anjos and seek his second professional title in his Beach Tennis career. In addition to the duo, Gustavo Gomes from Minas Gerais will play with João Petro Henriques.
A former football striker, who made history at clubs such as Corinthians, Fluminense, Internacional, Atlético-MG and América-MG, Moura has been a professional beach tennis athlete for two years, having reached the top 180 in the world last year. Arena RM is its newest venture in the sport.
Tribute to mother – The central court of the tournament and also of the Arena was named after Júnia Moura, Rafael Moura’s mother: “My mother passed away on October 2, 2020, she was my biggest supporter of the sport, she accompanied me in everything, she was super competitive.
I’m sure that this mega venture and this competition would not have happened by chance and CBT giving me the date of Mother’s Day (we didn’t choose the date) has her finger on it, she is definitely participating in the event. For me and my entire family, it is a huge happiness to have her name printed here at Arena RM where many people from Belo Horizonte met her and saw what a great person she was”, highlighted Rafa Moura.
The RM Arena has 15 courts, one of which is central, and the complex also has six padel courts and three pickleball courts.
The BT100 BH Alto Giro is the brainchild of Rafael Moura, produced by Zenith and Batata Bowl Entertainment. The tournament will distribute 100 points in the International Tennis Federation (ITF) ranking and 10 thousand dollars in prizes (R$ 52 thousand).
