In view of the critical situation that Rio Grande do Sul is experiencing due to the strong rains in recent days, the International made a request to CBF: suspension of team games for the next 20 days.

In an official note, Colorado asked for absolute priority for the safety of everyone who is going through delicate moments in the State. ESPN had already anticipated the situation this Monday.

”In view of the devastating state of public calamity and the overwhelming tragedy that is plaguing our city and state, Sport Club Internacional made an appeal via President Luciano Hocsman, of the Gaucho Football Federation, asking the Brazilian Football Confederation to suspend all games. from the club for 20 days”, says an excerpt from the note.

”The absolute priority at this moment is support to guarantee the lives of the thousands of people affected and the assessment and restoration of the minimum infrastructure necessary to guarantee the safety of all those who participate in a sporting event. We ask for understanding, solidarity, empathy and support that are essential in this very delicate and extraordinary moment,” Colorado states in the statement.

A ESPN found that the CBF will not oppose Internacional’s request. The entity is already studying the rescheduling of matches postponed for the FIFA Date period, which will take place this year in the following months: June, September, October and November.
