Presenter Neto, from “Os Donos da Bola”, on TV Band, guaranteed that striker Wesley and midfielder Breno Bidon will not be sold by Corinthians in 2024.
In last Thursday’s edition of the program, Neto guaranteed the athletes’ permanence in the current season after a private conversation with Corinthian president Augusto Melo.
“This year, Augusto told me that he won’t sell it. Clóvis, Wesley’s manager, also gave his word that he won’t sell, nor will Breno Bidon. Only Wesley had three proposals, Bidon none”, says Neto.
In an interview at the launch event of the new uniforms, president Augusto Melo also discussed the topic.
“I never said that I don’t intend to sell, of course there will come a time… Corinthians is in a complicated situation, but Corinthians will not sell like they used to, today we value our athletes, we value our base and Corinthians will sell today for a fair price”, declared Augusto.
Recently, Corinthians turned down a proposal of R$82 million from West Ham (ING) for Terrão’s son. Augusto Melo promised in his campaign that Team do Povo would no longer sell players who are promising for the club at low prices, citing that this is what happened under the former management of Duílio Monteiro Alves.
