The young Italian driver, Andrea Kimi Antonelli, continues to attract attention from Formula 1. After testing in Formula 2 in Barcelona, the 17-year-old driver shone in private training with Mercedes at the Imola circuit.
Antonelli participated in an intensive evaluation program last week, aimed at preparing him for a possible place in the main motorsport category.
In Imola, the initial focus was on adapting to the powerful Mercedes W13. On Monday, Antonelli completed 500 kilometers without error, impressing the German team. V
The Italian continued to impress on Tuesday, dedicating the day to practice starts and race procedures. Using little fuel, Antonelli demonstrated talent and control behind the wheel of the car.
There is still no confirmation on Antonelli’s future in Formula 1 as he continues racing in F2 in 2024, but his recent performance has certainly not gone unnoticed at Mercedes, where he is a junior driver.
