Student from Volta Redonda Municipal Equestrian School wins first place in state stage

The Volta Redonda Municipal Equestrian School (EMMR), from Fundação Beatriz Gama (FBG), started the 2024 season with a title. During the III State Stage of Beginners of Feerj (Equestrian Federation of the State of Rio de Janeiro), held this Sunday (28) at the Sociedade Hípica Brasileira, in Lagoa, Rio de Janeiro, student Markus Uffer won first place in the category of 60cm in the technical judgement, which is when a judge (professional rider) evaluates the horse’s control and the rider’s posture, among other aspects.

The EMMR school also finished in the top ten in five other categories. Moving up a category, Thiciane Brune, who jumped 90 cm, and Danilo Andrade, who competed in 80 cm, were in tenth and ninth place, respectively. Melina Neves Lima competed against 96 competitors in the 60cm category and finished in ninth place, the same performance as Ellysa Rocha, who competed in the 40cm. Competition newcomer Natan de Avelar jumped 40 cm and came in tenth place.

“It was the first competition we competed in the year and we already won first place in a more technical category. We also had five other students finishing in the top ten, with two students moving up a category, and another newcomer, who competed in the first race of his life. There were good results, and now it’s time to continue training hard for the next stages”, highlighted EMHVR coach, Yasser Pereira.

The CEO of FBG, Vitor Hugo Gonçalves de Oliveira, also spoke about this start of the season.

“In 2023 we had a great year, with students awarded for placing in the state ranking, receiving trophies in the Beginner, Main and Aspiring categories. This season we have already started with good results, and I am sure it will be another great year, with our students competing on equal terms at all stages”, he highlighted.

Stage IV of the Feerj ranking is scheduled for May 19th.
