A Formula 1 announced the launch of a new streaming service that will broadcast motorsport 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Calling from F1 Channelthe platform will show reruns of races from F1, F2, F3 and F1 Academy, as well as documentaries of popular races and classic Grands Prix.

The new streaming arrives before the Miami Grand Prix, next week, and will be available in the United States. Operated by partner C15 Studio, Channel F1 will be available on IPTV services such as Samsung TV Plus, Amazon Freevee and Pluto TV.

The service is a free ad-supported streaming television channel (FAST). In other words, it is a platform that integrates IPTV services that adopt the FAST modality. The initiative is a bet by F1 to further expand the North American market, which has been growing significantly in recent years, especially after the success of the Netflix series ‘Drive to Survive’.

Demand for F1 in the United States is at an all-time high, with a fan base of over 42 million and television audiences in record numbers. Following the recent growth of FAST channels in the country, the launch of the Formula 1 Channel reflects the latest television trends among fans there.

F1 director of media rights and content creation, Ian Holmes, believes in the potential of the new service. “The F1 Channel is the latest development from Formula 1 to evolve and elevate the content experience for fans. This service caters to the diverse viewing habits of our US fan base and serves as a great entry point for new fans through curated programming that aims to showcase the reality of F1”, he stated.

“Together with C15 Studio, we look forward to developing the Formula 1 Channel into an industry-leading product, which serves alongside our existing live streaming offering with ESPN and F1 TV, to offer fans a truly comprehensive, 24-hour F1 experience. a day, seven days a day. week”, adds Holmes.

The content that will be broadcast on Channel F1 will be added just five days after the race weekend. Live broadcasts of races in the USA will continue to be shown on ESPN channels and the F1 TV service.
