The fundraiser promoted by Matteus, runner-up of BBB 24, together with comedian Badin and other celebrities has already raised almost R$30 million for the victims of Rio Grande do Sul (RS). The money has been allocated to help families, schools, shelters and charities that suffered from heavy rains in the state. According to the state’s Civil Defense, 83 people died as a result of the storms.
Born in Alegrete (RS), Matteus has supported campaigns in favor of those affected by the rain and, in just a few hours, the fundraising shared by him and other former BBBs accumulated millions of reais. On Monday afternoon (6), the campaign raised R$ 29,492,651.50 million donated by more than 557 thousand people.
On social media, Matteus cried and thanked him for the support. “I want to thank everyone who is helping, making efforts regardless of the action they are taking. Thank you very much, you are doing something incredible for our state. May God bless you greatly, let’s continue the fight,” he said.

The regions most affected by the rains in RS are: Central, Vale do Rio Pardo, Metropolitana, Serra Gaúcha and Vale do Taquari. Almost 1 million people are without water and 424,000 without electricity.
