Before the Superliga, the national volleyball tournament was called the Brazilian Championship (1976 to 1987) and the National League (1988/89 to 1993/94). In all these years, a team from Minas Gerais stands out for the number of runners-up finishes. O On Attack presents the ranking of the greatest runners-up in the history of the tournament, since 1976.
The team that tops the list is Minas. Eight times, the Belo Horizonte club finished the championship almost. At least, it also appeared frequently at the top of the podium – seven. Right behind are the old Pirelli and Atlântica, with five runners-up.
