Corinthians is going through its worst moment under the command of coach António Oliveira. After Timão’s 1-0 defeat to Argentinos Juniors, the São Paulo club’s football executive highlighted his dissatisfaction with the recent phase and reaffirmed his confidence in the squad.

“There has already been a conversation, we know the situation. We knew the difficulty. Just keep working, this group will get us out of this situation. By trying even harder on a daily basis, this group has done their best, but it is not enough. It’s about continuing the work understanding the greatness, no one is satisfied, but we are here to speak to the fans”, he highlighted, in an interview with ESPN.

“We will continue to work, demand and have peace of mind to get out of this moment. This is a time of great dissatisfaction for everyone, we have to understand that the year is beginning, the messages have already been given. Now it’s time to take it to the games to get out of this situation by winning the matches”, he said.

Regarding reinforcements, Fabinho hinted that the Corinthians squad is closed. The executive, who arrived at Timão in January, demanded personality from the players to get the team out of the delicate situation experienced this season.

“About the cast, this group is what will get us out of this situation. It’s time to show your face, speak up and bring peace of mind. Football goes through these moments, nobody wanted to (experience this phase). There is no point in thinking that everything is lost, we understand the responsibility”, he added.

Corinthians returns to the field this Sunday (28) aiming to turn the season around. The opponent will be Fluminense, at 4pm (Brasília time) at Neo Química Arena.
