After conquering the Bundesliga for the first time in history with the Bayer Leverkusen, Xabi Alonso is already thinking about strengthening the team for next season. The Spanish coach wants to have a player from Real Madrid to form the defense of the German club.
This is Rafael Marín Zamora, 21 years old, who is currently on loan to Alaves, from Spain. According to the German newspaper Bild, the young athlete is very loved by Xabi who, for the next season, must reinforce the defense aware of the departure of Josip Stanisic, who will return to the Bayern Munchen after loan. It does not stop there.
Jonathan Tah and Piero Hincapié could also leave the club. Leverkusen’s board is working on renewing both, especially Tah, but, so far, there has been no agreement.
Real Madrid intends to count on the player’s return after the good season at Alavés, but if Bayer Leverkusen appears, the young man could go to Germany, where he would compete in the next edition of the Champions League. The merengue club could loan him out again or transfer him with an option to buy.
This season (2023/24), the defender has played 31 matches so far.
