Right after finishing Cody Garbrandt in history UFC 300this April, Deiveson Figueiredo used the media space he had to call for a fight against Sean O’Malley, current bantamweight champion. The Brazilian, former owner of the flyweight belt, is looking to add another title to his successful career.

Without receiving a positive signal from the UFC and O’Malley, Deiveson decided to change his focus. In an interview with “Canal Encarada”, the “God of War” asked Dana White to carry out what he considers his “dream fight”, which would be a confrontation with the former champion Dominick Cruz.

“People are throwing some names at me, but what I really want is to fulfill a dream of mine, which is to face Dominick Cruz. Dominick has a big name and everyone knows his history in the UFC. He works for the UFC and is always in the spotlight, and I hope one day I can face him,” said the Brazilian.

Since deciding to move up to bantamweight, Deiveson has collected two victories in the category and currently occupies sixth place in the rankings. Former division champion, Dominick hasn’t fought since August 2022, when he was knocked out by Marlon Vera. The American appears in 11th place.
