At the time, Rubén Darío Insúa had entered the field to scold and shout at right-back Gonzalo Luján, who had just replaced Malcom Braida and was playing his first minutes in the match. Referee Esteban Ostojich did not approve the Argentine coach’s action and issued a straight red card, which resulted in suspension for the next game in competitions organized by Conmebol.

This way, Palmeiras will make their debut in the Libertadores with the opponent without the head coach on the bench. The expectation is that one of Rubén Darío Insua’s assistants will lead San Lorenzo in the match.

The Argentine team is having an average season and occupies ninth place in Group B of the Argentine Championship, with 15 points gained in 12 games.
