Last Saturday (30), at the Castelo Branco Sports Gymnasium (Gigantão), the Fundesport Araraquara team beat Mogi das Cruzes 81 to 73 in the third round of the classification phase of the Paulista Under-20 Men’s Basketball Championship.

The visiting team started better and won the first two quarters of the match. The boys from Araraquara came back with another impetus after the break and achieved the turnaround. For Fundesport Araraquara, the highlights were Guilherme Lima (20 points), Jordan Nunes (19 points) and Daniel Gomes (14). On the opposing side, Arthur Bueris (17) and Ricardo Cruz (with a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds) shone.

With the purpose of revealing talents that could serve the city’s adult team in the future, the team is led by coach André Carrascoza, who is supervised by former player Luís Fernando and with the work of physical trainer Enderson Gameiro. Point guard Nezinho is the team’s coordinator.

In the next round, Fundesport Araraquara will play away from home again, in a game scheduled for this Saturday (6), at 3 pm, against São Paulo at Ginásio do Morumbi, in the capital of São Paulo.
