After defeat in the last round, Blumenau won again in the LBF (Women’s Basketball League). This Monday (1st), the team from Santa Catarina counted on an inspired night from Glenda Cruz to beat Bax Catanduva 87 to 69.

Blumenau’s wing/pivot was by far the biggest scorer of the match with 30 points scored. Glenda Cruz even came close to scoring a double-double by grabbing 8 rebounds. However, two of her teammates achieved this feat. Vitória Kons scored 12 points and gave 10 assists and Jenyff Moura scored 11 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.

The last time Blumenau was on the court for the LBF, the team was defeated by Ituano. The duel took place on March 28th in Santa Catarina and ended with 74 to 60 for the visitors. With tonight’s result, the team rehabilitated itself and recorded its third victory in seven games. On the other hand, this Monday’s setback made Bax Catanduva increase their negative series to five consecutive defeats.

On a “tour” through the interior of São Paulo, Blumenau returns to the court next Wednesday (3) to face Sesi Araraquara. Bax Catanduva has the week off and will only return to the LBF on the 8th of this month. On that occasion, they will face Ituano away from home.
