Cano does not train and is out of Fluminense’s debut in the Libertadores

Fluminense gained an important absence for their debut in the Libertadores. Striker Germán Cano did not train with the rest of the squad at CT Carlos Castilho this Monday (1), and is out of the game against Alianza Lima, in Peru, on Wednesday (3), at 9:30 pm (Brasília time).

There was an expectation that the Argentine would train normally with the ball to start his debut week in the Libertadores. But Tricolor’s top scorer will really be one of seven absences from Fernando Diniz’s team for the game in Peru.

The Argentine returned to training last Wednesday (27), which indicated steps forward in his return. At the weekend, on the other hand, the attacker felt pain again in some normal game movements and was once again a doubt. Without training, Germán Cano does not travel and is out of the debut.

Cano suffered a sprain in the right knee in training between the round-trip games of the Carioca Championship semi-final, against Flamengo. Flu was eliminated, and since then, the 36-year-old player has been undergoing intensive treatment.

With Cano’s confirmed absence, Fluminense will have seven absences for their Libertadores debut. In addition to the Argentine, Tricolor saw four other players are left out of training this Monday.

Paulo Henrique Ganso, Gabriel Pires and Germán Cano carried out transition work from the medical department to the field. On the other hand, Keno and Marlon are still undergoing treatment for their injuries and have not even started the transition.
