The form of Manchester City striker Erling Haaland is not good. After the 0-0 draw in the decisive duel between the Citizens and Arsenal, in the 30th round of the Premier League, the center forward’s period without scoring goals increased: he hasn’t found the net in five games. Consequently, criticism of the Norwegian intensified.

A more recent example was that of former midfielder Roy Keane, idol of Manchester United, the city’s biggest rival. During a program on the British broadcaster “Sky Sports”, the retired player trumpeted the Citizens’ number 9. He said, in particular, that there are similarities between the Norwegian striker and an athlete who plays in League Two, the fourth division in England.

“The levels of his game are very bad. In terms of attack, he is the best in the world, but his overall game is very bad. He’s almost like a League Two player,” Keane explained.

Haaland’s performance against Arsenal was marked by a great chance inside the box, which he doesn’t usually miss, in addition to the fact that he was unable to find space in the London team’s defense.

There was also a disagreement between Brazilian defender Gabriel Magalhães and the Norwegian center forward during the match. The argument continued after the end of the game, but, soon after, the two made up.

The clash between the Gunners and Manchester City was worth the leadership of the Premier League, which went to Liverpool, the team that won in the round and took advantage of their rivals’ draw.

Even in a bad phase, Haaland remains top scorer

Despite the bad moment, Haaland is the top scorer in the current edition of the English Championship, with 18 goals. Furthermore, in his debut season the previous year, he was awarded the title of the tournament’s top scorer after scoring 36 times, breaking the previous record held by Andy Cole and Alan Shearer, who scored two fewer goals.

The Norwegian center forward will have the opportunity to end this goal drought next Wednesday (3/4). Manchester City returns to the field in the Premier League to face Aston Villa, at 4:15 pm (Brasília time), at the Etihad Stadium, in Manchester. The duel will be valid for the 31st round.
