On Thursday (9), cold air will cause temperatures to dropwith minimum temperatures between 5° and 11°C in the Center-South of the state.

Eduardo Leite also commented on the government’s strategy in combating the impacts of flooding in the state.

“The first strategy is alert. Make the population understand the seriousness of what happened and what lies ahead. Our concern is not to have people in risk areas. And on the other hand, we seek to sustain all services in these conditions. We need to guarantee , in public shelters, water supply, sanitation, sewage, electricity, food, blankets, due to the cold weather. Asking for a group. to help with urban drainage, especially in Porto Alegre”, he detailed.

Leite confirmed that the state will receive personnel of the National Public Security Force (See federal government announcements for RS below).

The Minister of Institutional Relations, Alexandre Padilha, stated that the federal government will set a deadline for deputies from Rio Grande do Sul to redirect the application of R$448 million in parliamentary amendments. According to Padilha, these resources were originally included in the 2024 Union Budget for other areas – but, with the biggest flood in history in the state, they could be reallocated for relief and reconstruction actions, for example.
