The “Lost” series ended years ago, but it seems to continue to bring a lot of luck to fans in real life. On Saturday, a sequence of six very famous numbers from the production ended up being drawn, almost entirely, in the Mega-Sena, yielding a prize for several lucky people.

In the series, which ran from 2004 to 2010, the character Hugo Hurley (Jorge Garcia) becomes a millionaire playing the numbers “4 – 8 – 15 – 16 – 23 – 42”. Luck, however, does not remain with him, as tragedies begin to follow him wherever he goes after the move, shown in the 18th episode of the first season, entitled “Numbers”. From then on, the numerals reappeared several times in the plot.

However, in Mega-Sena competition 2720, drawn this weekend, the sequence was only minimally changed, with five of the six original numbers. At Mega, the order was as follows: “08 – 15 – 16 – 23 – 42 – 43”, with only the number 4 being replaced by 43.

The character’s bad luck was for the Sena’s main result, as no one matched all six numbers. In this way, no one won the main prize, which was accumulated at R$37 million. However, around 2967 bets matched the 5 “Lost” numbers, earning R$1,878.49 each. Another 6884 bettors matched 4 numbers and ended up with R$809.63.

According to g1, it is not possible to identify how many people were awarded based on the series numbers, even though all five were awarded in the same sequence. It is also not possible to know how many bettors included the numbers in different combinations.

Even so, the impact on the number of winners was notable: according to journalist Vitor Sergio Rodrigues, from TNT Sports, previously, the largest number of corner winners in the last 10 draws had been 145. On average over the last 10 draws, there were 62 winners by quina edition. This time we had 2967, almost 50 times more. “In other words, many people, many indeed, play Lost numbers every week!“, concluded the journalist.
