Itamaraty also once again defended the creation of two states. The country once again calls for an immediate halt to the violence and engagement in talks that contribute to a ceasefire and release of the hostages. The suggestion for states, according to the government, is based on “the only path capable of offering lasting peace for the people of Israel and Palestine, as well as for the Middle East region.”
Disregard for compliance with the basic principles of human rights and humanitarian law, despite calls from the international community, including its closest allies. Such an operation may, moreover, compromise ongoing mediation and dialogue efforts.

Israel began the evacuation of Rafah in the face of the announced invasion of the city
The Israeli army began operations on Monday morning (6). They argued that the action was “limited in scope to temporarily evacuate residents of the eastern part” of Rafah which, according to their spokesman Daniel Hagari, concerns some “100 thousand people”.
A representative of the Palestinian Red Crescent in eastern Rafah assured that people are fleeing. “[Estão] terrified, in the midst of panic”, and estimated that the region designated by the Israeli Army affects around 250 thousand people.
Israel considers the operation in Rafah essential. The Netanyahu government says it aims to “destroy the last four battalions” of the Islamist movement in Palestinian territory. The UN estimates that around 1.2 million people live in this border city with Egypt and assures that it is “impossible to carry out a mass evacuation of such magnitude safely”.
