Next Wednesday, Labor Day is celebrated. Due to the date, some services do not work, such as banks and the Post Office. Establishments such as shopping malls and supermarkets may have special opening hours. See below what is open and what is closed on May 1st to get organized and enjoy the holiday.

Bank branches will not open for in-person service on May 1st, informed the Brazilian Federation of Banks (Febraban). Bank compensations, including TED, will also not be effective during the period. PIX can be done normally. Likewise, post offices will not open either. In both cases, customers can use digital and remote channels for self-service.

The RJ Detran also informed that there will be no opening hours in any of the department’s units on Wednesday.

Markets

• Assaí Wholesaler: All units in Rio de Janeiro will have normal opening hours, from 7am to 10pm. The Ceasa store will be open from 6am to 8pm. The Campos dos Goytacazes and Petrópolis units will not open.
• Extra Market: The stores will also open at normal hours, from 7am to 10pm. The exceptions are the units in Nova Iguaçu, São João de Meriti, Queimados and Piabetá, which will close at 6pm. The stores in Petrópolis, Paulo Barbosa, Alto da Serra and Corrêas will not open.
• Guanabara: The 26 stores will operate normally, from 7am to 10pm.
• Natural Hortifruti da Terra: The entire network will operate from 7am to 8pm.
• Sugar Loaf: The stores will open normally on May 1st, from 7am to 10pm. The Copacabana units will be open until 9pm, and the Itaipu store, from 8am to 9pm. The exception is the Itaipava unit, which will not open.
• Prezunic: All stores will be open until 9 pm.

• Center Shopping Jacarepaguá: Stores and kiosks will be open from 1pm to 9pm; food and leisure, from 11am to 9pm; Cineflix cinema will operate as scheduled; Bodytech gym, from 8am to 2pm.
• Fashion Mall: Shops and kiosks will be open from 2pm to 8pm, and restaurants from 12pm until the last customer. The Alameda de Serviços, cinema and theater will operate according to their respective schedules.
• Island Plaza Shopping: Stores and kiosks will be open from 1pm to 9pm. Food court and restaurants will open from 12pm to 10pm. The cinema will operate according to schedule.
• NorteShopping: Shops, kiosks, leisure and entertainment will open from 1pm to 9pm; food, from 10am to 10pm; taste Lab, from 11am to 11pm; and Patio, from 10am to midnight
• Plaza Niterói: Stores and kiosks may open from 1pm (optional) or from 3pm to 9pm (mandatory); food court, from 12pm to 9pm; restaurants and cinema will operate according to your schedule.
• RioSul: Stores will be open from 1pm to 9pm. The food court will be open from 12pm to 9pm.
• Shopping Jardim Guadalupe: Stores and kiosks will be open from 1pm to 9pm, food and leisure operations will be open from 12pm to 9pm, and the Rede Economia supermarket will be open from 7:30am to 10pm. The Smart Fit gym will be open from 8am to 5pm. The cinema will operate according to schedule.
• Shopping Tijuca: Food and food kiosks will be open from 12pm to 10pm; stores and kiosks, from 1pm to 9pm; leisure and entertainment will operate as scheduled.
