Brazilian Lívia Voigt, 19 years old, is the youngest billionaire in the world, with an estimated net worth of US$1.1 billion, according to the magazine’s 2024 ranking Forbesreleased this Tuesday, 2. She is the granddaughter of Werner Ricardo Voigt, one of the founders of the electrical equipment manufacturer Weg, who died in 2016. Lívia’s fortune comes from her minority stake in the company.
Lívia is studying Psychology and is just two months younger than the second place in the youngest ranking, the Italian Clemente Del Vecchio, heir to EssilorLuxottica, which owns brands such as Ray-Ban.
She and her older sister, Dora Voigt de Assis, 26, are among the new members of this year’s list of the 25 youngest billionaires in the world.
Everyone on the 2024 list is 33 years old or younger, and together they have a combined wealth of $110 billion.
For the first time in 15 years, everyone under 30 is heir – including Lívia and Dora. Few are considered “self-made”.
The majority are from Europe. In addition to the two Brazilians, the list also features names from South Korea and Hong Kong (all heirs) and Japan and the United States (all “self-made”).
