After the 1-0 defeat to Santos, last Sunday (31), Palmeiras turned the key to thinking about the Libertadores debut, on Wednesday. The duel valid for the continental competition takes place on Wednesday (3), at 9:30 pm (Brasília time), against San Lorenzo, at the Nuevo Gasómetro Stadium. For the match, coach Abel Ferreira can spare his players.

The confrontation against the Argentines takes place in the middle of the Paulistão decision. On Sunday (7), Palmeiras hosts Santos, at Allianz Parque, in a return duel, at 6pm. With this, Verdão is experiencing a scenario similar to that of 2023, when it also had its first Libertadores commitment between the two games of the State final.

Last year, the team led by Abel Ferreira had to travel to Bolivia for the game against Bolívar after losing the first leg of the Paulista decision 2-1 to Água Santa. For the duel against the Bolivians, the Palmeiras coach sent a reserve team onto the field, which ended up losing 3-1, coming from behind. In the second leg, Verdão managed to reverse the score and won the cup after a 4-0 victory at Allianz Parque.
