After being named as the inspiration for several songs on “The Tortured Poets Department”, Taylor Swift’s new album, Matty Healy revealed this Wednesday (24) what he thought of the singer’s most recent work. In conversation with Entertainment Tonight, the lead singer of the band The 1975 gave his opinion on the tracks that were supposedly about him.

When approached on the streets of Los Angeles, Healy was asked how he would rate the songs. “Can you hint at me? Oh!”, he said. The singer then replied: “I haven’t really listened to much of the album yet, but I’m sure it’s good.” Watch the full video below:

Taylor and Matty never publicly admitted that they were in a serious relationship. However, they were seen together several times, leaving music studios and even kissing at Casa Cipriani in New York, in May last year. Therefore, fans believe that some of the tracks are about the affair they had, including the one that gives the album its name, “The Tortured Poets Department”. In it, the blonde would have brought some of the musician’s characteristics to portray a romance.

As we know, the singer is known for liking to smoke and drink, even during his shows, and has several tattoos. Additionally, the band has a hit titled “Chocolate”, a word mentioned by Taylor in the track. “You smoked and then ate seven chocolate bars. We declare that Charlie Puth should be a greater artist. I pet him on the head and you fall asleep like a tattooed golden retriever.”compares the voice of “Cruel Summer“.

“Guilty As Sin?”, in turn, could be a song about anyone. However, some fans have theorized that the emotional betrayal discussed in the song has to do with Healy. Taylor describes her sensual daydreams about another man as “fatal fantasies,” and admits that she and the unidentified person have “already done this” in her head.

“What if he wrote the word on my thigh just in my head? (…) I keep remembering things we never did. Sloppy kisses, how I long for our meeting without ever touching his skin. How can I be guilty as sin? I keep these desires locked in a folder inside a safe (…) These fatal fantasies are making my breath hitch. They’re taking everything from me, we’re already together in my head.”intones the artist.

“Down Bad” seems to be about a breakup, an outburst about Swift losing someone with whom she shared a “cosmic love.” Although the lyrics could be about any of the blonde’s ex-boyfriends, fans believe it is a clear reference to Matty, as she describes her ex-lover as “hostile” and having “indecent exposures”.

“I loved his hostile decisions. Meetings increasingly closer. All your indecent exposures. How dare you say that you are… I will build you a fort on some planet where everyone can understand. How dare you think you’re romantic?”says a verse of the song.

Finally, Taylor talks about having a relationship with a troubled and controversial man in “I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can)”. “They shake their heads, saying, ‘God help you,’ when I tell them he’s my man. But your good Lord doesn’t need to lift a finger. I can fix it, no, really I can”, describes in a few verses. In fact, Matty has a series of controversies, having already been accused of racism. He was persona non grata to Taylor’s fans.
