“Don’t come back”: Hugh Jackman almost gave up on Deadpool & Wolverine after conversation with Marvel boss

After the Marvel Studios machine raised the bar on some fronts, mainly in economic terms, the industry has struggled to keep the wheels turning – regardless of the quality of the projects, in some cases.

After entering the field of the multiverse, Casa das Ideias understood that bringing old characters into their new stories would be a great source of inspiration. In this sense, after witnessing Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire reprising their different versions of Spider-Man, it’s time for Hugh Jackman to return to play Wolverine in the new Deadpool film.

In an interview with Empire, the actor spoke about the hero’s classic yellow costume that will finally be adapted for cinema. “We almost did that in Wolverine,” says Jackman. “But from the moment I put it up here, I thought, ‘How have we never done this?’ It felt so right, it felt so right. I was like, ‘That’s him.'”

During the chat, he also explained that this variant of the hero should explore different sides of the character. “There are different sides to Wolverine that we haven’t seen before in the movies. It was exciting for me,” he said. “It’s great for Deadpool to have someone who will punch him in the face.”
