A delegation from the Government of Minas Gerais, led by governor Romeu Zema, carries out, between 11/5 and 18/5, official agendas in the United States, in New York, Wayne (Pennsylvania) and Washington. The objective of the international mission is to prospect new investments for the lithium production chain in the state and seek new partnerships between American companies and Minas Gerais, generating jobs and income for miners.
On the agenda, a special event will showcase the results of the socioeconomic transformation in the Vale do Jequitinhonha region brought about by the Vale do Lítio project, launched in May 2023 on Nasdaq, the world’s largest stock exchange for technology and innovation businesses, located in New York . The initiative has just completed one year.
Throughout the mission, the delegation from Minas Gerais will also participate in meetings and events with North American businesspeople and investors, with the aim of formalizing new investment partnerships between Minas Gerais and the USA. The meetings also represent an opportunity to promote Destination Minas Gerais, enhancing job creation.
International mission
The series of commitments in the United States is part of the Government of Minas Gerais’ investment attraction program which, each year, improves its results, generating development and jobs throughout the state.
Since 2019, the current administration has attracted R$409 billion in private resources for 713 projects installed in 270 municipalities in Minas Gerais.
Accompanying Governor Romeu Zema on this international mission are the Secretaries of State of the Civil House (SCC), Marcelo Aro, of Economic Development (Headquarters), Fernando Passalio; of Infrastructure, Mobility and Partnerships (Seinfra), Pedro Bruno; the CEO of Invest Minas, João Paulo Braga; and the president of the Federation of Industries of Minas Gerais (Fiemg), Flávio Roscoe.
