Work carried out by the Environmental Police Battalion (BPMA), of the Ceará Military Police (PMCE), resulted in the capture of a man, the seizure of a firearm and the rescue of four wild birds. The offensive took place on the afternoon of Tuesday (07), in the town of São Pedro do Gavião, in the municipality of Tururu – Integrated Security Area 17 (AIS 17) of the State.
BPMA teams received information about a man who was raising birds in poor conditions. The police officers quickly went to the indicated location and saw the wild birds trapped in cages in the backyard of the residence. The owner authorized the police to enter the property.
Inside the residence, police found a shotgun and containers of lead and gunpowder. Security agents also seized four wild birds in poor condition, including a thrush, a backland parakeet, a prairie rooster and a ribbon bow.
The 59-year-old man and the seized materials were sent to the Tururu Municipal Police Station, a unit of the Civil Police of the State of Ceará (PCCE), where the man was charged with an environmental crime and illegal possession of a firearm.
