Anyone traveling in the South Police Sector towards Taguatinga will be able to access Estrada Parque Indústrias Gráficas (Epig) again, starting at 4pm this Saturday (11). Access to the road had been blocked since April 18 for the runway to be concreted, forcing drivers to use the internal roads of Octogonal. With this measure, collective public transport will once again use the bus stop located in front of the pedestrian walkway.

“All the interventions adopted so far are temporary”, recalls the Secretary of Works, Valter Casimiro. “With the advancement of services, we are returning to normal traffic on the sections under construction. This change will certainly ease traffic on Octogonal’s internal roads.”
New ban
For the continuity of concreting services at the height of the viaduct that passes over Estrada Parque Indústrias e Abastecimento (Epia), the loop that connects Via Epia to Estrada Parque Taguatinga (EPTG) will be closed. Therefore, as an alternative route, drivers must access EPTG through the Industries and Supply Sector (SIA).
In the coming days, new interventions on the road will be announced, always in advance. “As the work progresses, sections of the road will be released to minimize disruption”, explains engineer Carlos Magno, responsible for the work.
The works at Epig are part of the Eixo Oeste corridor, responsible for connecting Sol Nascente to Eixo Monumental and the Asa Sul Terminal. Along the road, where there will be an exclusive lane for buses in the BRT system, nine viaducts, BRT stations, pedestrian crossings and cycle paths. For logistics and safety reasons, the works were divided into six sections.
The first section under construction, located at the intersection of the EPTG road with Epig, covers the implementation of a BRT corridor, the construction of two new viaducts, installation of cycle paths, drainage works, paving, signage, landscaping, sidewalks and urban furniture.
