Acting governor Darci Piana participated this Wednesday (08) in the opening of the 11th Automotive Industry Suppliers Fair (Autopar), aimed at the auto parts market, held at the Expotrade Convention Center, in Pinhais, in the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba. The event, which continues until Saturday, has 700 exhibitors and expects to receive more than 60 thousand visitors, making it one of the largest of its kind in Latin America.

Piana highlighted that Paraná has one of the largest automotive hubs in the country, with major brands such as DAF, Renault, Volvo, Volkswagen, with great potential for the auto parts sector. “This fair started with 33 companies. Today it has more than 700 brands, which shows, once again, the strength of the automotive sector in Paraná, its capacity and the growth of the State throughout this process”, stated the acting governor.

“In fact, we have companies from other countries here, which is good, because it shows that we are on the right path. I am sure that we are examples for Brazil”, she added.

The acting governor also highlighted that the State has hosted major national and international fairs, as a result of Paraná’s good economic environment and the confidence of the business community. “We have this big Autopar fair, in recent weeks we had ExpoApras, in the supermarket sector, which was also an absolute success. This shows that we are growing, that the State is doing very well and has been receiving investments from all over the world”, he concluded.

According to data from the Paraná Traffic Department (Detran-PR), the State has a fleet of more than 8.3 million vehicles, consisting mainly of cars (4,731,957), motorcycles (1,223,839), pickup trucks ( 771,188), scooters (342,265), trucks (293,589), buses (42,223), minibuses (25,706) and tricycles (2,827).

Cássio André Dresch, one of those responsible for the fair, explains that the objective is to bring together the automotive sector, mainly parts. “It is the largest technology exhibition in the aftermarket sector, bringing together more than 700 brands that offer auto parts, motorcycle parts, technologies, everything that a mechanic, dealer or autocenter needs to repair a vehicle,” he said.

“Paraná has the 4th largest vehicle fleet in Brazil and Autopar represents not only the Paraná market, but also the national and international market, with visitors from more than 15 countries. This market that produces auto parts in Brazil and supplies stores, manufactures technology to equip workshops, goes back to more than 4 thousand factories throughout Brazil”, highlighted Dresch.

FAIR – With more than two decades of history, Autopar is the main showcase of the auto parts industry in Latin America, consolidating its position as the leading event in even years. Held at the Expotrade Convention Center, it occupies 30 thousand square meters of exhibition space. The program includes lectures, workshops and business meetings, providing a conducive environment for the exchange of knowledge and experiences between professionals in the auto parts industry.

The fair is an official event of the Union of Retail, Wholesale and Distributor of Parts and Accessories for Vehicles and Retail Trade of Vehicles in the State of Paraná (Sincopeças) and the Union of Vehicle Repair and Accessories Industries of the State of Paraná (Sindirepa- PR).
