A 56-year-old woman needed medical attention after receiving a blow to the face and fainting from the impact of the attack. According to the Military Police (PM), the person suspected of carrying out the injury is her own son, aged 33, who was reportedly irritated to discover that his mother had reported cases of previous attacks.

The nurse, who treated the victim at the Basic Health Unit (UBS) in Darcinópolis, contacted the police reporting that the woman had been admitted to that unit with several apparent bruises and abrasions.

Questioned by the police, she confirmed the attack suffered and said that her son frequently drinks alcohol, which would have led to violent behavior. According to the victim, she had recently gone to the Public Defender’s Office in Wanderlândia and was advised to contact the police.

On Tuesday (7), she told her son that she had made a complaint to him, which left the man very upset. Moments later, the woman received a blow to the face and was unable to tell the police what had been used to hit her.

The victim told the police that he only remembers falling to the ground and, when he woke up, he was being attended to by the UBS medical team. The team located the attacker in a family car wash.

The suspect was detained and police discovered that he has an outstanding arrest warrant for theft. He was taken to the Araguaína police station for legal proceedings.
