The Mato Grosso Government’s strategies for family farming and strengthening rural tourism will be the main themes of the Production Chains Forum, scheduled for May 30th and 31st. The event will be held during FIT Pantanal, at the Pantanal Events Center, in Cuiabá, in a parallel schedule.
Promoted by the State Secretariat for Family Agriculture (Seaf), together with the Mato Grosso Research, Assistance and Rural Extension Company (Empaer), the Forum aims to discuss challenges and opportunities in these production chains, bringing together experts, farmers and regional representatives of the productive segment for an exchange of experiences, knowledge and practical solutions.
The opening will be led by the Secretary of Family Agriculture of Mato Grosso, Luluca Ribeiro, who will highlight the State Government’s initiatives to boost the family farming and rural tourism sectors.
“The Forum will provide discussions on strategies that support the development of activities in the State, promoting family farming as a lever for economic growth in the regions”, highlighted the secretary.
The event also provides a free opportunity to learn about the experiences of other production chains, such as cocoa, which has been strengthened in the State with the MT Produtivo Cacau Program, which distributes seedlings to family farmers who intend to invest in the crop.
The subject will be addressed in a lecture with the deputy secretary of Family Agriculture of Mato Grosso, Clóves Cardoso, on May 31st.
The program also features a lecture by Seaf’s veterinarian, Priscila Sinhori, on the certification of products of animal origin in the State; by the superintendent of Family Agriculture at Seaf, Luciano Gomes Ferreira, who will address the production of tropical fruits, among other lectures on various important topics for family farming.
FIT Pantanal is carried out by the Government of the State of Mato Grosso in partnership with the Fecomércio-MT System.
