Sergipe remains under alert for rain of intensity that could vary between moderate and intense until 11am this Thursday, 9th.

According to a bulletin from the Meteorology and Climate Change Management, linked to the State Secretariat for the Environment, Sustainability and Climate Actions (Semac), the tendency is for the rains to intensify during the early hours of this Thursday, with special attention to the regions of Coast and countryside of the state.

There is a possibility of accumulated rainfall exceeding 50 mm/day. Intense winds can reach 50 km/h.

According to the ministry, the presence of a lot of humidity in the state should favor the intensification of rains, and due to the atmospheric instability present in the Northeast of Brazil, high intensity clouds could move and cause significant accumulations.

Semac also warns that the occurrence of rain can create risks of flooding, landslides, overflowing of small streams, creeks, rivers and lakes, in addition to requiring special attention when driving on highways. There is also the possibility of intense winds and electrical discharges.
