Rio Grande do Sul Court of Justice had power supply interrupted

The measure was taken in a joint act this Monday (6/5), between the president of the TJ-RS, Alberto Delgado Neto, and the General Inspector of Justice, Fabianne Breton Baisch.

Joint Act 003/2024 determines the suspension of in-person working hours of the Judiciary of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, of judicial services on May 11th to 17th, 2024, in the first and second levels of jurisdiction, maintaining the on-call service permanent.

The suspension of procedural, jurisdictional (civil and criminal) and administrative deadlines was also established, from May 11 to 17, 2024, inclusive, within the scope of the first and second degrees of jurisdiction, without prejudice to the practice of a procedural act of an urgent nature and necessary for the preservation of rights.

The measure took into account that the eproc system is operating with reduced infrastructure, due to the shutdown of the data center in the Rio Grande do Sul Court of Justice building, due to the shutdown of the “Rótula das Cuias” drainage pumps, due to through the Storm Sewer Department (DEP) of Porto Alegre City Hall, causing flooding and closing of buildings.

The initiative also comes from the consequences of the CEEE Equatorial Energia initiative, which turned off the electricity supply in the entire region close to the TJ and Foro Central buildings, whose systems will start to operate through the generation of energy through diesel combustion. It is not possible to determine how long the unviability of the Central Forum II building will last.

The act also establishes that, in the period from May 6 to 12, 2024, to restrict the overload to the eproc system, only urgent measures will be processed, which will be processed through the jurisdictional on-call services.

Hearings and trial sessions in all forms, including virtual ones, designated for the period between May 7th and 17th, are suspended. With information from the TJ-RS press office.
