Banco do Brasil (BB) opened a channel for donating financial resources to benefit victims of the floods in Rio Grande do Sul. According to the bank, R$5 million has already been obtained through the mobilization campaign and through transfers made by companies within its conglomerate.
In a note, BB informed that the resources have been used to purchase food, drinking water, kits of hygiene and cleaning, goods and utensils. Deposits can be made through pix (key [email protected]) or into current account 51.000-9, at branch 1607-1.
“Donations are coming from different regions of the world. For example, in Japan, where there is a large Brazilian community outside the country, the fundraising campaign has generated engagement from customers and non-customers. As a measure to encourage donations, BB Japan will refund remittance fees made to agencies in the state of Rio Grande do Sul until May 31st”, says the note.
The president of Banco do Brasil, Tarciana Medeiros, said that the initiatives adopted by the institution go beyond donations and also include humanitarian support in the region and also business flexibility measures for customers.
“We materialize our purpose of being close and relevant in people’s lives. And at this moment, it would be no different. All of RS can always count on BB”, said the president.
Debt renegotiation
BB had also already announced debt renegotiation measures for clients who are legal entities (PJ). They may have “three installments extended extraordinarily, for the PJ Rescheduling, Mass Renegotiation and Special Renegotiation lines, or up to six installments, for the BB Capital de Giro Digital and BB Financiamento PJ lines. There will also be an exemption or refund of fees for Bank Billing, Batch Payments and Automatic Debit products for MSE customers for 60 days (1/5 to 30/6)”, detailed the bank.
Furthermore, the outstanding balance of Ourocard card invoices not paid in full during the calamity period will be carried forward to the following month, without incurring charges. “Billing and negative actions for customers located in affected municipalities will also be suspended,” he added.
