Manaus (AM) – A 40-year-old cook was arrested this Tuesday (7), in Tabatinga (1,108 kilometers from Manaus), for raping a vulnerable person committed in 2017. The arrest took place in the Vila Verde neighborhood, in the municipality.
According to delegate Maria Beatriz Andrade, head of the Specialized Police Station (DEP), the victim was 4 years old when the crime occurred. The author worked as a cook in the victim’s house, where he committed the sexual abuse.
“We reconnoitred the author’s residence and observed his movements. This Tuesday morning, the investigation team went to the location to serve the arrest warrant for the individual, who offered no resistance as he already knew of his conviction,” he explained.
The man was sentenced to 9 years and 7 months in prison for raping a vulnerable person and will be available to justice.

Marcos Freitas dos Santos, aged 52, died on Monday night (6), at Hospital e Pronto Socorro Platão Araújo, in the east of Manaus, after feeling ill. The man is suspected of raping and killing his own daughter, a child just 2 years old.
The barbaric case was recorded on Monday afternoon in the capital of Amazonas. The victim was admitted dead to the José Rodrigues Emergency Care Unit, on Avenida Camapuã, in the Novo Aleixo neighborhood, in the north of Manaus.
