Days of exchanging experiences and getting to know the reality of the Alagoas prison system. The delegation that arrived in the state – coming from São Paulo and Brasília – on a technical visit carried out by the National Coordination of Education, Culture and Sports of the National Secretariat for Penal Policies (Senappen), had an agenda of appointments that revealed how education is administered within of Alagoas prisons.

The resocialization process was closely monitored by managers from other States, who recognized the advancement of policies aimed at people deprived of liberty implemented in Alagoas.

During the period in Alagoas, the delegation spoke with teachers and other Seris employees about education policies at the national level, learned about the Livros que Libertam project and the entire literacy process developed by the Government of Alagoas.

“It is with great pleasure that we receive this delegation, showing our good practices and how our resocialization is carried out, through education here in Alagoas”, highlighted Cláudia Simões, Executive Secretary of Resocialization Policies at Seris.

“During this week, Senappen, through the Education, Culture and Sports Commission, visits Alagoas to monitor educational, cultural and sporting activities within the state. The delegation is accompanied by civil servants from the state of São Paulo who are also bringing their local experiences and thereby learning and getting to know what happens in the Alagoas prison system”, reinforces Rodrigo Dias, coordinator of Culture, Education and Sports at Senappen.

“This exchange of experience between the prison system of Alagoas and the prison system of São Paulo is important, having the opportunity to learn about our practices and for us to also learn about the practices that are being developed in the state of São Paulo”, explains judge Alexandre Machado , from the 16th Criminal Execution Court.

Cláudio Nachibal, director of Labor and Education at the São Paulo Penitentiary Administration Secretariat (SAP/SP), says he has great expectations for exchanging experiences on Alagoas soil. “We are going to learn a lot from this beautiful and blessed state”, he says.

The delegation has plans in Alagoas until Thursday (9).
