The Prosecutor’s Office for the Defense of Public and Social Heritage (Prodep) issued, on May 2, a Recommendation for the Operational Control Center of the Brasília Public Transport Society (TCB) to quickly promote the measures necessary for immediate linking the vehicles of companies contracted to provide the school transport service to georeferenced routes, allowing monitoring of the service.

The document was prepared after an inspection carried out at Transportes Coletivos de Brasília (TCB), on April 23rd. The objective was to check the current phase of implementation of monitoring of vehicles intended for school transport for students in the public education network of the Federal District. Linking vehicles to georeferenced routes will allow these expenses to be settled and payments to be made based on the effective provision of services, observing the electronic reports issued by the control system.

Prosecutor Eduardo Gazzinelli Veloso attended the inspection, accompanied by analysts from the Public Prosecutor’s Office’s technical advisory team. The team noted the evolution of the process of definitive implementation of the service, which will allow, among other advances, the effective monitoring of compliance with itineraries and the payment of expenses according to the specific provision of services.

Inspection of the school transport service, given its social relevance, was selected for strategic monitoring by Prodep holders. The work will include checking the adequacy of contracts and expenses incurred, in addition to the requirement for dignity in serving students in the local public education network.
