Faced with more than 80 deaths and 149 thousand victims who had to leave their homes because of the floods in Rio Grandes do Sul until this Monday (06), institutions, celebrities and ordinary people have mobilized across the country to help. In Rio Grande do Norte there are some initiatives underway, here’s how to participate:
Archdiocese of Natal
The metropolitan archbishop, Dom João Santos Cardoso, asks the faithful to make donations until next Monday (13). The Archdiocese of Natal will send the amount collected to the bank account of Regional South 3, of the National Conference of Bishops of Brazil (CNBB), which comprises all dioceses in Rio Grande do Sul, which will make due distribution to meet the needs of people in situation of social vulnerability.

Sinte/RN
The Public Education Workers Union of large northern river (Feel/RN) and the National Confederation of Education Workers (CNTE) are helping to publicize the campaign of the Union of Teachers and School Employees of Rio Grande do Sul (CPERS) to raise funds to be passed on to victims impacted by the floods.

ADURN-Sindicato (Teachers’ Union of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte) joined the campaign of @adufrgssindical, a union that represents teachers at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, to collect donations for families impacted by the floods. Northeast Consortium
The states of Alagoas, Bahia, Ceará, Maranhão, Paraíba, Pernambuco, Piauí, Rio Grande do Norte and Sergipe, which are part of the Northeast Consortium, came together to send teams of Military Firefighters, divers, lifeguards and rubble rescue specialists . In addition to vehicles, inflatable boats, diving equipment, certified binomial remains, watercraft, thermal monocles, flashlights, neoprene suits and other resources were sent to reinforce rescue efforts.
