Seger’s note on Sindipúblicos’ demonstrations

The Secretariat of Management and Human Resources (Seger) informs that the calculation of the linear adjustment index takes into account factors such as the behavior of State revenue and the Fiscal Responsibility Law (LRF), in order to readjust employees’ income without compromising fiscal balance and the soundness of public accounts.

In May this year, the 4.5% index will be applied, which practically replaces all inflation in 2023, which was 4.62%. The adjustment will benefit more than 96 thousand employees, including active and inactive, and will result in an annual increase of R$372,140,916.60 in the State’s payroll. It is worth noting that the linear adjustment was also granted in previous years – 3.5% in 2019, 6% in 2022 and 5% in 2023.

Permanent employees of the Executive Branch of the State also have promotions and career progressions, which enable an increase in their remuneration and which, consequently, impact the vegetative growth of the leaf.

In addition to the linear adjustment, the Government granted other benefits to State professionals during this administration. Here are some of them:

Increase in food allowance and daily allowance
In May 2023, the value of food assistance paid to public servants of the State Executive increased from R$300 to R$600 – an increase of 100%, which benefited more than 50 thousand working professionals.

In October 2023, the daily value of State public servants traveling for work was increased from R$112 to R$220, an increase of 96%.

Teaching readjustment
In November last year, a 4% salary adjustment was granted to approximately 26 thousand state teaching staff, active and inactive, paid by subsidy, and who work in schools or administrative units of the Department of Education (Sedu).

Public Security Readjustment
Public Security employees – PM, CBMES, Civil Police, Socio-educational Agent and Penal Police – were covered, in December 2023, with a 4% adjustment specific to these categories. The same index will be applied in December 2024, 2025 and 2026.

Restructuring Career plans
From 2019 to 2023, the State Government carried out the restructuring of several careers in the State Executive. Among them, the Teaching and Security:

– In 2021, Education professionals had their initial career recomposition, with a variation from 23.09% to 28.79%. The average gain in the subsidy table was 18.5%.

– In 2022, employees of the PM, CBMES, Civil Police, Criminal Police and Socio-educational Agent also had career restructuring, with specific gains for each category.
