The Bahia State Finance Department (Sefaz) issued an alert to taxpayers regarding the due dates for the Motor Vehicle Property Tax (IPVA) in May. Owners of cars with license plates with endings 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 have deadlines ending this month.

Anyone who wants more information can use the Virtual Counter service, available on the website, or send an email to [email protected]. You can also call the call center on 0800 071 0071 (for landline calls) or 71 3319-2501 (for cell phone or landline calls).

Owners of vehicles with license plates ending 5 and 6 can pay the tax in a single installment with an 8% discount until May 28th and 29th, respectively. Another option is to pay the first of the five IPVA installments within these same deadlines, without a discount. Owners of cars with license plates 3 and 4 who divided the tax into five installments need to pay the second installment by May 28th and 29th, respectively.

The third quota for owners of vehicles with end plates 1 and 2 also expires this month, also on May 28th and 29th, respectively. The option applies to taxpayers who paid the tax in installments.

If you choose to pay in a single installment with an 8% discount, the taxpayer can pay the tax via pix, through the portal. To do this, simply enter your username, password and request the service “Pay single quota licensing – issuance of DAE”. Payment can also be made through the channels of Sefaz-Ba partner institutions: Banco do Brasil, Bradesco or Bancoob.

According to the State Department of Traffic of Bahia (Detran-Ba), the taxpayer must be aware that the complete licensing of the vehicle includes other items in addition to the IPVA, that is, for the car to be regularized it is also necessary to pay off annual licensing debts. and fines, if any. The deadline for keeping vehicle documentation up to date ends on the due date of the fifth installment of the tax.
