Four people were arrested red-handed with half a ton of marijuana in Garuva, in the north of Santa Catarina, this Monday (6). According to the Civil Police, the group would take the drugs to Joinville, approximately 38 km from the city, to supply members of a criminal organization that operates in the state.
According to the Civil Police, a police barrier was set up near the municipality’s tollbooth, which borders Paraná. The suspects came from the neighboring state.
They were divided into two cars: a Fiat Palio, in which there were two men, and a Volkswagen Nivus occupied by a couple. Questioned by g1, the Civil Police did not detail their participation in the crime, nor how much drugs were in each of the cars.
The operation was carried out by the State Directorate of Criminal Investigations (Deic) of the Civil Police, in conjunction with the Federal Revenue Service.
The vehicles were identified during the investigation. Photo released by the Civil Police shows the trunk of one of the vehicles full of drugs (see below).
