The governor of Rio Grande do Norte, Fátima Bezerra, authorized the sending of teams and equipment to assist in search and rescue efforts due to the storms that hit Rio Grande do Sul. The deputy general commander of the RN Fire Department, colonel Franklin explained how the state’s personnel should contribute to the military personnel who are already working in RS.

In total, according to the deputy commander-general, seven soldiers will be sent with rescue equipment, in addition to two Pickups and two complete boats.
“The states in the Northeast, at this moment, will replace teams from other states that are already there and have been working for several days. There needs to be this substitution to rest the teams”, he explained.

The RN will also be sending two tractor-trail vehicles, four aluminum boats, two economizer engines, diving equipment, life jackets, helmets, as well as other items necessary for carrying out water rescue.
