In Acre, a survey carried out by the Fecomércio technical team in partnership with the Data Control Institute points to optimism in retail trade in the state. According to the data, 80.2% of businesspeople interviewed invested in stocks for the second most important date on the trade calendar. The flow of shopping movement should happen throughout this week and on the eve of the 2nd Sunday of May.

“This expenditure will drive trade intensely. The economy is a big circle, and in this circle in which everyone can spend, all economic agents benefit”, says economist Rubicleis Gomes.

In the opinion of 67.4% of those interviewed, the consumer’s expectation of spending on the date, associated with planned promotions, ranges from R$50.00 to R$200.00, not neglecting consumers who have shown interest in higher expenses.

For 32.7% of commercial entrepreneurs, this year’s movement tends to be up to 20% greater than that observed in the previous year, surpassing sales in previous months. However, even with this expectation, there should be no hiring of labor in Acre.

For Egídio Garó, advisor to the presidency of Fecomércio-AC, businesspeople’s expectations for Mother’s Day are optimistic, especially for the clothing, footwear and handbags sectors, which represent the majority of commercial activity in the State.

A survey by the National Confederation of Commerce in Goods, Services and Tourism (CNC), released at the end of April, showed the sales volume forecast for the second most important date in Brazilian commerce, Mother’s Day. The data also provides forecasts for hiring temporary workers.

According to economist Fábio Bentes, responsible for the projection, Mother’s Day 2024 should promote financial transactions of approximately R$13.2 billion across the country. If this expectation is confirmed, the commerce sector will grow by 3.5%, compared to the same date last year.

Considered by many the “Christmas” of the first semester, Mother’s Day also affects the job market. Contrary to what was published by Fecomércio/AC, the CNC’s expectations for the whole of Brazil, regarding the hiring of temporary workers, are very optimistic, hovering around 25,900 hires for the period.
