Governor said that a large solidarity network for RS is important
The population of Mato Grosso do Sul will be able to help the victims of the worst climate disaster in the history of Rio Grande do Sul. All schools in the State Network and units of the state security forces, such as the Military Police and the Military Fire Department, in the municipalities, will be collection stations.
Starting this Tuesday (07), non-perishable food, hygiene and cleaning products, mineral water, bed and bath linen and clothes and shoes in good condition can be donated.
Governor Eduardo Riedel explained that the action aims to reduce the suffering of Gauchos. “We require teams there and we will do everything we can to help. Now, I think a great chain of solidarity is important. We are mobilizing society, together with actors from the private sector, which is the ‘MS pela Vida, Unidos pelo Rio Grande do Sul’, a great campaign where every citizen of Mato Grosso do Sul who wants to can contribute,” he said.
Mato Grosso do Sul is one of the states that sent military personnel, as well as a helicopter from Sejusp (Secretary of Justice and Public Security), to help the victims of the flood.
The donation campaign “MS pela Vida, Unidos por Rio Grande do Sul” is organized by the State Government, Sistema Fiems and Energisa, with support from Viação Cruzeiro do Sul and Vitlog Transportes.
In Corumbá, the units of the State Education Network will work in partnership with student associations to collect donations.
