Nephew kills aunt, calls the police and is released in ES; suspect even threw chlorine into the unconscious victim’s ear | Holy Spirit

A 62-year-old teacher died after being pushed, falling and hitting her head, this Saturday (4), in Serra, Greater Vitória. Joana Dalva do Nascimento was at home and had an argument with her nephew. According to the Police Report (BO), he called the police himself, said he had committed a crime and wanted to turn himself in. Joana was laid to rest this Sunday morning (5).

According to the military, when they arrived at the scene, the suspect said he had an outbreak. Joana hit her head on the corner of the kitchen sink and fell to the floor. At that moment, the young man confessed that he poured chlorine into his aunt’s ear until she no longer showed any vital signs.

In the OR, the police recorded that the victim had a “perforating contusion to the frontal lobe”. According to neighbors, there was also food thrown on the teacher’s body, such as coffee powder, salt, rice and beans.

Residents of the condominium said that the victim was very loved, had lived in the André Carloni neighborhood for 35 years, was a teacher in the municipal public school and would retire later this month.

“She was a very good person. She was evangelical, she went from work to home, from home to church. She didn’t hurt anyone, quite the contrary, she raised all her nephews, and the one who committed the crime was the last one”, said a neighbor who did not want to be identified.

The woman regretted not being able to help and also reported that everyone was afraid of the young man returning to the condominium.

“We heard some noises, but she didn’t ask for help, she just cried. I even tried to come to the fence, I looked up to see where it was coming from, but the person stopped screaming. […] He had no heart! She took care of him, he came here when he was about 17, she paid for his tuition. Now we are scared, because he is free, he has a key to the house, we are scared here”, said the neighbor.

The Military Police confirmed that they went to the André Carloni neighborhood, in Serra, as a man called the Integrated Operational Center for Social Defense (Ciodes/190), informing them that he had committed a homicide and that he intended to surrender himself to justice.

Arriving at the scene, the military discovered the death of a 62-year-old woman, the suspect’s aunt. Forensics were called and the man was taken to the 3rd Serra Regional Police Station.

The Civil Police reported that the 22-year-old man, taken to the Serra Regional Police Station, was interviewed and released, as the police authority did not identify sufficient elements to carry out the arrest in the act at that time.

The body of the victim, a woman, was sent to the Legal Medical Department (DML) of Vitória, where it will undergo an autopsy process. It will later be released to family members.

The case will remain under investigation by the Specialized Homicide and Women’s Protection Division (DHPM).
