The objective of the meetings is to strengthen institutional ties and strengthen historical partnerships in favor of research and development of science and technology in the state. Accompanied by the Technical Coordinator of UEP – Rio Largo Walane Ivo, the head discussed with the rector the terms of the new agreement to be signed between the institutions, which will allow the renewal of the stay of UEP teams in the UFAL area. “The face-to-face meeting allowed us to fully advance the discussions and reach terms that meet the interests of both organizations, and strengthens and consolidates Embrapa’s historic partnership with UFAL”, declared the head. “In today’s meeting it was possible to clarify all points of the institutional relationship and establish the milestone of a new moment in the history of our partnership”, said the rector. Government On Friday, Tereza had an audience with the Secretary of State for Science, Technology and Innovation of Alagoas, Silvio Bulhões, accompanied by her deputy head of Technology Transfer Cristiane Sá, the coordinator of UEP – Rio Largo Walane Ivo, researcher Antonio Santiago and by the president of the Local Section of the National Union of Agricultural Research and Development Workers (Sinpaf) Arnaldo Rodrigues. The head and the secretary agreed to hold two technical-scientific events in partnership in the state and the launch of a new funding notice to strengthen the agenda of research, development and socio-productive inclusion projects. “One of these events will be a seminar to present our research center’s research program to important actors in the development of Alagoas”, said Tereza. “It was a very productive meeting with practical developments already in sight. Together we are working on partnerships that contribute to the research scenario and boost Alagoas in strategic sectors”, stated the secretary. The managers took the opportunity to discuss the process of welcoming the UEP – Rio Largo team and structures and equipment into the permanent headquarters, which should be ready in 2026.
