Singer Madonna will give a free performance this Saturday (4) on a stage set up on the sand of Copacabana Beach, in front of the Hotel Copacabana Palace, where she is staying. The event closes The Celebration Tour, which celebrates the pop diva’s 40-year career.
O show is scheduled to start at 9:45 pm and will last two hours. The party will open with a DJ performance, starting at 7pm.
To receive the expected crowd of around 1.5 million, a special traffic scheme was set up that includes blocking access by car, bus and taxi to Copacabana.
Traffic blockages
From 7 am on Saturday (4), the track along the edge of Avenida Atlântica will be closed. The track next to the buildings will operate reversibly, as is the case on Sundays and holidays.

Subway
MetrôRio will have a maximum supply of trains from 3pm on the day of the show, and both lines 2 and line 1 can be used for the return trip to Copacabana.

Metrô Rio recommends that you disembark at the Siqueira Campos/Copacabana station. Cardeal Arcoverde station will only be open for disembarkation from 4pm to 10pm.

SuperVia trains
For the trip to show from pop to rock, the public will be able to use the trains as normal. Central do Brasil station will close at 9:15 pm and reopen at 12:15 am, remaining until 2:15 am for service at the end of the show.

Security
The security scheme for the public of the show foresees the presence of 3,200 military personnel, 64 vehicles and 65 monitoring towers in the region. Cross streets along the waterfront will be closed with bars and access control. There will be 18 blocking and search points with facial recognition. Furthermore, the subway stations in Copacabana will be searched with metal detectors.
