On the afternoon of this Friday (03), a 34-year-old man was suspected of setting fire to his partner, a 14-year-old teenager, and her parents, a 43-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman, last Saturday (27 ), in the city of Jupiá, in the west of Santa Catarina, was arrested by the Civil Police, through the Jupiá and São Lourenço do Oeste Border Police Stations.
According to investigations, on Friday (26), the teenager ended the relationship, returning to her parents’ house, in the city of Jupiá
On Saturday morning (27), the ex went to the teenager’s residence, where he stayed throughout the day, trying to rekindle the relationship. At nightfall, around 7:30 pm, faced with the teenager’s refusal, the ex left the place, but promised to return and burn the family.
In this scenario, a few minutes later, the ex returned and set fire to the family, hitting its three members, an act that resulted in serious injuries to his victims, two of whom remain hospitalized in serious condition.
“For these reasons, as soon as the fact came to the attention of the Civil Police, a police investigation was launched to fully investigate the facts, and several steps were taken, until, this afternoon, after representation from the Police Authority to the Judiciary for the arrest preventive action of the person being investigated, civil police officers from the aforementioned units arrested him. The investigations will still be completed to hold the criminal accountable and to determine the causes and circumstances of the crime.”detailed the Civil Police.
