In the month of combating child sexual exploitation and abuse, “Maio Laranja – Faça Bonito”, the president of the Commission for International Relations, Promotion of Sport and Defense of the Rights of Children and Adolescents of the Legislative Assembly of the State of Amazonas (Aleam), state deputy João Luiz (Republicans), highlights that the campaign “Ei, Te Orienta! Enticing, Molesting and Violating Children Is Not Culture. It’s a crime!” With lectures and actions, it reached 26.3 thousand people in the capital and interior of the State.
“We are working with guidance and prevention on cases of child exploitation and abuse in Amazonas. This work is carried out with the support of managers, police officers and our commission team, which is made up of psychologists and lawyers. We have been providing extremely important information to our children and teenagers”, said deputy João Luiz.

Among them: Amaturá, Boa Vista do Ramos, Carauari, Careiro da Várzea, Coari, Eirunepé, Humaitá, Iranduba, Manacapuru, Manaus, Maués, Parintins, Presidente Figueiredo, Rio Preto da Eva, Santo Antônio do Içá, São Paulo de Olivença, Tonantins and Urucará.
Special Session
Next Tuesday (7), Aleam will hold a Special Session in reference to the National Day to Combat Abuse and Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents, in the Ruy Araújo plenary, through request nº 575/2024, authored by the deputy state João Luiz.
Law and requirements
João Luiz is the author of Law No. 6,684/2024, which establishes the State Day of Commitment to Children, Adolescents and Education in the State of Amazonas.
The parliamentarian is also the author of request No. 3050/2023, which establishes the State Day to Combat Sexual Violence against Children and Adolescents, No. 3045/2023, which provides for school training for children and adolescents to identify and prevent situations of intrafamily violence and sexual abuse, among others.
