Man arrested on suspicion of killing nurse inside apartment in Pernambuco

A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of killing nurse Adalberval Prazeres Campos, 57, who was found dead inside his apartment, in Olinda (PE), on Wednesday, 1st.

The nurse, who worked at the Pernambuco Cancer Hospital, in Recife, was found dead in the building where he lived in the Bultrins neighborhood. According to the Civil Police, his body had signs of violence and stab wounds.

According to the Police, the person being investigated confessed to the crime and the victim’s objects were found with him. He was taken to the Homicide and Personal Protection Department (DHPP) by a team from the 1st Military Police Battalion (BPM).

The Pernambuco Nurses Union published a note on social media lamenting the death of the professional. ‘”It is with deep regret that we received the news of the death of nurse Adalberval Prazeres Campos. A nurse at the Pernambuco Cancer Hospital, he performed his work with great dedication. We regret his early departure and extend our condolences to his family and friends”, he wrote.

In the comments of the publication, several co-workers also lamented Adalberval’s death. “A lot of pain! You built a beautiful legacy in the profession. I wish you lots of light wherever you go. Be welcomed with open arms by our kind and merciful God. Thank you for everything we experienced together on our shifts”, commented a friend.

The case remains under investigation by the 9th Homicide Police Station in Olinda.
