A bus, several tires, barricades and other objects were set on fire during shootings in communities in the West and North zones of Rio de Janeiro this Thursday (4).
Residents claim that one of the leaders of Morro da Primavera, in the North Zone, was killed in a confrontation with civil and military police. The police have not yet confirmed the information.
Rua Silva Vale, in the same community, was closed with burning tires and a bus was set on fire on Rua Enaldo dos Santos Araújo, in protest against the alleged death of drug dealer Wellington de Souza Gouvêa, known as Gaguinho,
In the Vila Aliança community, in Bangu, in the West Zone, several streets were blocked by buses and trucks that were crossed on the roads by criminals. The smoke from the burning barricades could be seen from afar.
A rifle was seized by military police officers from the 14th BPM (Bangu). Three health units were closed for the safety of patients and staff. Another two had part of their functioning affected, such as home visits.
In both communities, there is the presence of civil and military police. The reason for the incursions is not known. In Bangu, the shooting has lasted more than an hour and a half.
Avenida Taquaral and Rua Augusto de Figueiredo, in Bangu, were blocked.
Both communities are dominated by the same drug trafficking faction.
According to the Military Police, agents operate in tactical sieges in support of Civil Police actions.
